Conjunction of moon and Jupiter, close approach of moon and Jupiter

The moon and Jupiter will be in the constellation Aquarius. The both the object will share same right ascension. From Mumbai, the conjunction will be visible between 12:30 Am to 5:56 Am. Also, the moon and Jupiter will make a close approach.

4 June

Conjunction of Uranus and ceres

Both the object will share same right ascension. The Uranus will be in the constellation Arise and ceres will be in the constellation Cetus. The conjunction is going to be happen on day-time, therefore it is not visible from Mumbai.

Mercury at perihelion, annular solar eclipse, daytime arietid meteor shower

Mercury will be at farthest point in his orbit around the sun.

On 10th June Annular solar Eclipse will take place. The moon will come in front of Sun. unfortunately, this solar eclipse is not visible from India. It is visible from Canada, Greenland and Russia. while, partial solar eclipse will visible from

The annular solar eclipse will remain on its peak for Approx. 3 min.

The daytime Arietid meteor shower will be at its peak on 10th June. From Mumbai it is visible approx. between 3:40 Am to 5:30 Am. This shower produces 20 meteor per hour in Mumbai. While in dark area it is expected to produce 50 meteor per hour. The Radiant point of this shower lies in constellation of Aries.

11 June

Mercury at inferior solar conjunction

An inferior conjunction occurs when both the object lies in a line on the same side of the sun. On this day, mercury will pass very close to the sun with angular separation of just 3 Degree 08 minute. The both objects will share same right ascension in constellation Taurus. The mercury will go out of sight for several week due to its closest approach to the sun.

12 June

Conjunction of moon and Venus

Moon and Venus will share a same right ascension. The pair will be visible on western horizon. From Mumbai this conjunction is visible from evening 7 pm. Both will be lie in constellation Gemini.

13 June

Venus at perihelion

Venus will reach closest point in his orbit around the sun at a distance of 0.72 AU. From Mumbai, Venus is visible from around 7:30 pm on western horizon. The Venus will be in constellation Gemini.

14 June

Conjunction of moon and Mars, close approach of moon and mars

Moon and Mars will share same right ascension. They both will be in the constellation Cancer. At same time, both objects will make a close approach. From Mumbai, the conjunction will visible from around 7:32 pm on western horizon.

20 June

Close approach of mars and M44

M44 is Beehive Cluster. It is one of the nearest open cluster to earth. It was among the first objects that Galileo studied with his telescope. On 24th June, Mars and M44 will make close approach. They will pass within a 0.5 Arc minutes of each other. Both objects will lie in constellation Cancer. From Mumbai, these pair will visible from 8:04 pm in constellation cancer.

25 June

Moon at apehelion, Neptune enters retrograde motion

The moon will be at farthest point in his orbit from the sun. on same day, Neptune will enter retrograde motion. Neptune will halt its eastward movement through constellation and turn west. It is happening because of earth’s motion around the sun.

27 June

June Bootid meteor shower, conjunction of moon and Saturn, close approach of moon and Saturn

The bootid meteor shower will be on its peak on 27th June. The radiant point is lies in the constellation Bootes. This shower is visible from Mumbai. The best time to watch the meteor shower from Mumbai is around 9 pm. At this particular time, its radiant point is highest in the sky.

The moon and Saturn will share same right ascension. Both the object will lie in the constellation Capricornus. The pair will be visible from Mumbai at around 3:03 am in constellation Capricornus. This conjunction is visible to naked eye or by using pair of binoculars. Also, both the object will make a close approach at a same time.

29 June

Conjunction of moon and Jupiter, close approach of moon and Jupiter

In the constellation Aquarius, moon and Jupiter will be on same right ascension. Also, both will make close approach to each other. From Mumbai, we can see this conjunction. The best time to see this is at 12:21 am on south horizon.
